"How do you do? My name is Honey-Honey Wheeler." Trixie was on a horse at last! "It looks like I'm going to inherit nothing but a lot of old junk."
Trixie meets Honey for the first time. Trixie is thrilled to be on a horse—and to meet Regan. Discussing Jim's inheritance.
Trixie scooped Bobby up and ran to the house as fast as she could. "I'm dying to ride Jupiter, Honey." Honey filled her bathing cap with water and washed the blood from Trixie's face.
Bobby is bit by a copperhead! Trixie begs Honey to ride Jupiter. Honey gets over her fear of
blood and nurses Trixie.
They rested in the shade. Mrs. Belden and Trixie set the table while Mr. Belden carved. Jupiter reared impatiently.

the mangy yellow dog.
Mealtime at the Belden farm—circa 1950s. Jim rides Jupiter.
There was the deafening sound of an explosion and the plane burst into flames. Trixie could distinctly see the head and shoulders of a man rising above the thicket. "It's a letter from Jim."
Jim and Trixie race toward
the pilot that crashed.
Jonesy! Jim leaves Trixie a
letter—and a ring.
